Binghamton - Speedy Bikes and Spiedie Fest
Binghamton rests along the Susquehanna River as it meanders trough the Southern Tier of New York State. Home to six wood-carved antique carousels the area is just made for fun. Cycling is a big event with the annual Chris Thater Memorial races and Spiedie Fest keeps everyone smiling.

You don’t know what a spiedie is? Well, you are in for a treat! Grill up some fresh meat of your choice – chicken, steak, venison - in a special sauce and be sure to make lots because you will want seconds and your neighbors are sure to come nosing around to see what you’re up to.

The tricky thing with spiedies could be picking the right wine… but never fear… we’ve got several options in New York that will solve that dilemma. For chicken, we would recommend a semi dry Riesling or Vignoles. For steak – baco noir or cabernet franc. For venison – pinot noir sounds great.

Don’t sweat the wine and food pairing – it’s like riding a bike – once you get it right you’ll know! Check with a local retailer for their recommendations.

Binghamton and the Carousels
The banks of the Susquehanna provide a great home for some state and national treasures.Home to six wood-carved antique carousels the Binghamton area is just made for fun and the folks that spent hundreds of hours making these beautiful carousels would be delighted to know that they are so well cared for.

The carousels were built to help people enjoy a happy life and we hope that is what New York wines will do for you as well. Take time to sit and enjoy a meal with family and friends. Sip the wine and savor the time…as the carousels turn, so do our busy days and it is important to collect memories of the good times and to reach for the brass ring!
