The Press Deck 1/10/18 - Field Notes ~ New DTC Site ~ USBevX Conference ~ Podcast on NY Wine ~ Forbes & Parker 'Best Of' ~ Wine Trail Events

Dear Friends,

This February, WineAmerica will be conducting its annual National Wine Policy Conference in conjunction with the U. S. Wine & Beverage Conference and Expo (USBevX) in Washington, D.C.  The WineAmerica 2018 national Wine Policy Conference will take place on February 20. The conference and trade show will take place February 21 & 22, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. If you're interested in attending, NYWGF members are eligible for a 50% discount at registrationusing promo code NYSW2018.
The 2018 conference theme is "In Pursuit of Excellence"in acknowledgment that every great wine region shares a common obsession, quality above all else. USBevX supports this mindset and conference topics and speakers reflect that.  I will be participating as a panelist in the session titled  Promotion: Creating Programs that Work where I will discuss NYWGF's success with its New York Drinks New York Program.
2018 topics will showcase new "quality driven" trends in  production and viticulture along with their anticipated impact. There will be interactive discussions, led by industry experts, that will highlight breakthroughs in packaging, sales & marketing and their effect on consumer impression. Attendees will also hear about anticipated changes in lending, legislation, legal and compliance to ensure they are prepared for success in 2018 and beyond.
I attended last year with several wine trail and industry leaders from New York.  I found the speakers and information presented to be relevant to the New York and the Eastern Wine industry.  It is like a Unified Wine and Grape Symposium but with a more tailored focus for smaller US wine regions. We hope to see many of you there this year for what promises to be an excellent event.
