The New York Wine Classic Announces Call for Entries, Winner of Logo Competition

CANANDAIGUA, NY – May 18th, 2018 – The 33rd Annual New York Wine Classic has unveiled a new logo and announced a call for entries for this year’s competition to be held in August 2018 in Watkins Glen, NY. The New York Wine Classic will be hosted by the New York Wine & Grape Foundation and is being sponsored by Gray Locey, CPA, P.C. and The Arrigo Agency, Farm Family Insurance.

“With the new name, comes a new logo,” said Sam Filler, New York Wine & Grape Foundation Executive Director. “It made sense to ask our community for their input and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.” Well over 100 wineries, grape growers, business members and wine enthusiasts chose from among five professionally created designs. “The voting was robust, and the winner was clear,” said Filler. The logo chosen is and bold and tasteful. “We are confident that this is a strong, impactful image that will translate well to the new package of marketing materials supplied to the Classic winners.” 

In addition to the coveted medals, the winners of the Governor’s Cup, Winery of the Year, Concord Brandy, Best Red, Best White, Best Pink, Best Sparkling, and Best Dessert categories will receive a package of marketing collateral intended to help promote their wines throughout the year. Wine bottle labels with the new Classic logo, point of sale materials including case cards, shelf talkers, and electronic media including testimonials, photos, and branded images for use on websites, social media and in their own press kits will be provided.

The New York Wine & Grape Foundation will procure an allotment of the Governor’s Cup, Winery of the Year and Concord Grape Brandy wines to feature at a wide range of events throughout the year including the Great New York State Fair, a VIP dinner at the NY Kitchen, domestic and international tradeshows and various legislative receptions.

Entry information including updated classes, competition rules, wine shipping information and deadlines can be found online at www.newyorkwines.org. Participants can choose to download entry forms or submit their information online. Entry fees for the 2018 event will be $60 per submission for New York Wine & Grape Foundation members and $75 per submission for nonmembers. Fees for Limited Production wines, Ciders and Concord Grape Brandy will be $40 for members/$50 for non-members per submission. The list of 21 judges will be announced in late May.
