Jancis Robinson’s Launches Glass Collection with Help of Red Newt Riesling

The Launch of Jancis Robinson’s 1 Glass Collection in collaboration with Richard Brendon Studio
Official event was held on 21st June 2018 - Featuring Red Newt Cellars Dry Riesling 2015 – Official white wine of the Evening

We were delighted when Jancis Robinson got in touch with Westbury Communications, proposing the possibility of pouring Finger Lakes Riesling as the official white wine for her much-anticipated wine glass launch. She chose to pair her glassware with Red Newt’s 2015 Dry Riesling, who she recognized in April 6 opinion piece in the Financial Times, titled, “Jancis Robinson on Riesling, wine’s great underdog.”

It was a wonderful evening at a penthouse apartment looking over much of London, with truly la crème de la crème of the British restaurant and wine scene, with such guests attending as former Harpers sommelier of the year and wine director of the Four Seasons and Ten Trinity Square, Jan Konetzki, Tatiana Fokina of Hedonism Wines and Hide Restaurant.

Jancis said some words about the wine, and the region, as well as thanking the New York Wine & Grape Foundation for so generously providing the wine. She commented on how much the wines of the area had impressed her so far. “The vitality and energy and balance of the Rieslings, the value, and the overall quality is extremely exciting – I implore you to look further.”
