Paul Brady_Brand Ambassador A very comprehensive, and rather herculean, review of Finger Lakes wines has surfaced at Vinous is the review site and brainchild of wine writer Antonio Galloni. Galloni was for a time the second hand of Robert Parker at the Wine Advocate, assigned to such regions as Burgundy, Champagne, and Piedmont. Vinous is Galloni’s update to the Wine Advocate, and as a sommelier I used Vinous more than any other publication as an aid to buy and sell wine. Their vintage chart is an incredible tool – how else could you know to buy or sell a 1967 Barolo if you’ve never tasted it? Vinous is the type of site that has lengthy coverage of old bottlings and how they will show if stored properly. When stepping into a new restaurant role with a list that included 1967 Macarini and 1981 Musar Rouge, Vinous was my best friend.

All that being said, this is the type of coverage from which we can get a lot of mileage. We have future plans to have a comprehensive webinar with the critic, Jason Wilson (who now also covers the Loire Valley for Vinous), as to what his review process is like, and what he took away from this detailed deep dive into the Finger Lakes.
