International flavor comes to Seneca Lake!

Watkins Glen, NY – Kick off 2020 with the first official trail-wide event on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. Join us January 17-19 for Global Eats and Local Wine (formerly Savory World of Seneca). This event will feature delicious, internationally-themed foods paired with wine at 21 participating wineries.

Riesling pairs exceptionally well with Asian cuisine. Gewürztraminer complements spice-driven meals like Indian curry. During Global Eats and Local Wine, enjoy a self-guided tour around Seneca Lake while exploring the unique and often delicious pairings of Seneca Lake wines with foods from an amazing variety of nations and cultures. Just a few of the samples you can look forward to enjoying include:

  • Creamy Tuscan Garlic Tortellini Soup (a taste of Italy) at Seneca Shore Wine Cellars
  • Jamaican Cake at Fulkerson Winery
  • Sweet Plaintain Tacos (a taste of Jamaica) at Glenora Wine Cellars
  • Beef and Cabbage Soup (a taste of Ireland) at Fruit Yard Winery
  • Zwiebelkuchen (a taste of Germany) at Lakewood Vineyards
  • Potato Curry Stew (a taste of Thailand) at Three Brothers Wineries
  • Mongolian Meatballs at Zugibe Vineyards
  • Danish Dream Cake at Bagley's
  • Jamaican Jerk Chicken Chili at JR Dill Winery
  • Apple Butter Rugelach (a taste of Poland) at Atwater Estate Vineyards
  • Spicy Asian Ramen Salad (a taste of Japan) at Leidenfrost Vineyards
  • French Springs Soup at White Springs Winery
  • Armenian Rice Pilaf at Rock Stream Vineyards

When you’re enjoying a wine from a Seneca Lake Wine Trail member winery you can be assured that it is Grown Here. Made Here. Our member wineries are dedicated to producing high quality wines produced from grapes grown within this unique area. You can trust that this dedication translates from vineyard to bottle. Global Eats and Local Wines will showcase this connection between the land, the fruit, the wine, and food. An educational and enjoyable weekend!

With so many delicious pairings to enjoy, you’ll want to take your time. The event begins on Friday, January 17 (12pm – 5pm) and continues Saturday and Sunday (10am – 5pm). Tickets are $40 per person for wine tasters and $20 per person for designated drivers. For additional details and to purchase tickets, please visit:
